Overloaded tippers cripple Dharmanagar–Kailashahar road, daily life disrupted by severe traffic jams

Date:

Agartala, 27th April 2026:   Dharmanagar–Kailashahar Road, one of North Tripura’s most vital transport links, has fallen into disrepair, leaving commuters and residents in constant distress. The unchecked movement of overloaded tipper trucks carrying stone has severely damaged multiple stretches of the road, turning them into muddy patches riddled with large potholes.

This morning, the situation worsened when a heavy truck broke down in the middle of the road, triggering a massive traffic jam. Office-goers, schoolchildren, and even an ambulance were trapped for hours, heightening public anxiety over the state of the route.

Local residents allege that despite repeated complaints, authorities have failed to take firm action against the rampant overloading that has caused the deterioration. Frustration is mounting as no effective measures have been implemented to repair the road or regulate heavy vehicle movement.

Community members are now demanding urgent repairs and strict enforcement against overloaded trucks. They have warned that if immediate steps are not taken, they will launch a larger protest movement.

The pressing question remains: how quickly will the administration act to restore this crucial road and relieve the public from daily suffering?
