Police ineffective in curbing theft: Thieves strike again in city

Date:

BY TC News Desk

Agartala, June 10, 2023: The police’s attention seems to be focused on photo sessions rather than effective crime prevention, resulting in a complete lack of progress in their work. Incidents of theft continue to take place, with the police merely recording complaints in their ledgers without any success in apprehending the culprits. Unfortunately, another theft has taken place despite the police registering the case.

The recent theft took place on Friday night in the city. A brazen group of thieves targeted the house of a tenant on Dhaleswar Road No. 13 here. Suprasanna Sarkar and her family resided in the rented house in the area. During the night, the group of thieves raided Suprasanna Sarkar’s house, making off with cash and valuable gold ornaments.

Sarkar explained that everyone was asleep during the night and only discovered the broken window and damaged grill on Saturday morning. Upon further inspection, they found that cash and gold ornaments from the showcase were missing. Sarkar promptly informed the house owner, who subsequently reported the incident to the police.

Upon receiving the information, the police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation into the incident. The effectiveness of their efforts remains to be seen as the community eagerly awaits the outcome of their actions in halting these thefts.
