Agartala, 7th April 2025: Sabroom Police Station staff conducted a significant raid in the Kalyan Nagar area yesterday and successfully arresting six individuals involved in gambling activities. The operation was led by Officer-in-Charge OC Apu Das resulted in the confiscation of Rs 12,480 in cash and various gambling paraphernalia including a Jhandi Munda board.
OC Apu Das highlighted the growing concerns over gambling and drug-related crimes in the Sabrum area, noting their adverse impact on society. “The police are committed to preventing such activities and will continue to carry out regular operations,” he stated.
The six arrested individuals were produced in court today. OC Das has urged the public to report any gambling or drug-related activities to the authorities. “Community cooperation is vital in combating crime. The police are always striving to ensure a safer society with the help of citizens,” he added.
The raid has sparked discussions in the local community, with many residents praising the police’s proactive measures. Police sources have confirmed that similar operations will be conducted in the future to curb illegal activities in the sub-division.
