Pradesh Congress commemorates 33rd death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi

Agartala, 21st May 2024:  In a solemn tribute to the late former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, Pradesh Congress observed his 33rd death anniversary with reverence. The ceremony took place on Tuesday at the Pradesh Congress Bhavan, where flags representing various branches of the party, alongside the Congress party’s flag were raised. Pradesh Congress President Asish Kumar Saha along with Congress MLAs Sudip Roy Barman, Gopal Chandra Roy, Birajit Sinha and other dignitaries graced the occasion.

Following the flag hoisting, attendees laid wreaths at Rajiv Gandhi’s statue in front of the Congress Bhavan before proceeding to Gandhighat to pay respects at Shaheed Bedi. President Saha hailed Rajiv Gandhi’s legacy as the country’s youngest Prime Minister attributing advancements in science, technology, education and panchayat empowerment to his tenure.

In a parallel initiative, Tripura Pradesh Congress dedicated to shaping a renewed India, organized a blood donation camp at Pradesh Congress Bhavan. Led by State Congress President Saha and attended by MLA Sudip Roy Barman, MLA Gopal Chandra Roy and other supporters, the camp aimed to address blood shortages in local blood banks. President Saha emphasized the significance of the camp, emphasizing its role in alleviating the ongoing blood crisis.
