Agartala, 28th October 2025 : At present, Bhavan’s Olympiad stands as the largest academic competition at the school level in Tripura. This year, the Olympiad examination was held on 3rd August, in which around ten thousand students from 47 schools participated with great enthusiasm. Notably, Bhavan’s Olympiad has now entered its eleventh successful year.
Bhavan’s has always believed in the holistic development of students and in providing education suitable for the future generation. The Bhavan’s Olympiad is a fruit of that farsighted vision.
The award distribution ceremony was held on Tuesday at the Maharaja Bir Bikram Auditorium, located on the Narsingarh campus of Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir, with much grandeur and enthusiasm. The Vice-Chancellor of Maharaja Bir Bikram University, Dr. Bibhas Deb, graced the event as the Chief Guest. Several principals and headmistresses from different schools were also present as distinguished guests.
The programme began with a welcome address by Swapna Shome, the Principal of Bhavan’s Tripura Vidyamandir, who extended a warm greeting to all attendees. In her speech, she highlighted the rich legacy and expanding reach of the Bhavan’s Olympiad. She also announced the future plan to conduct the Olympiad in all districts of the state.
In his address, the Vice-Chancellor praised Bhavan’s for its overall success and for spreading the spirit of learning and competition among the younger generation. He described the Bhavan’s Olympiad as a “Festival of Knowledge.”
A short cultural performance by the students of Bhavan’s added charm to the event and won the hearts of everyone present. The Olympiad honours achievers with Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals, along with cash awards and other attractive prizes. On this day, the Gold Medal winners received their medals from the dignitaries on stage.
Debasish Chakraborty (Retd IFS), the Chairman of Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Agartala Kendra presided the program, in his address he emphasized the local significance, widespread impact, and growing acceptance of the Bhavan’s Olympiad among the people of Tripura.
The presence of a large number of teachers and students from various schools across the state made the event remarkably successful. The programme concluded with the National Anthem, marking the end of a memorable and inspiring celebration.
