Agartala, 6th December 2024:   Residents of Radhanagar and Kantakhal have given a deputation to the Sadar sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) addressing various local issues and seeking financial assistance for flood victims.

Speaking to reporters here, a committee leader highlighted the severe impact of the recent floods in Tripura, which caused extensive damage to houses and agricultural land, particularly in the Katakhal area from Indranagar to Betarban. Despite government assurances of financial aid, three months have passed, and many affected residents have yet to receive adequate support.

“The floods caused immense damage to people’s homes and agricultural land. The government promised financial assistance, but after three months, many are still waiting. The aid provided so far has been insufficient, and there have been inconsistencies in the distribution of grants,” said the committee leader.

The leader further explained that a house-to-house survey conducted by the CPI(M) revealed that a significant number of victims were deprived of government grants. The deputation calls for immediate action to address these issues and ensure fair distribution of financial assistance to all affected residents.
