Agartala, 8th November 2023:    A man was severely injured after he was attacked by another man with a ‘dao’ and a stick over a road dispute in Tekni area of Sarasapur Gram Panchayat under Kadamtala police station. The injured man, identified as Asit De (Bijit), was rushed to Kadamtala hospital, where his father-in-law Sajal Pal suffered a brain stroke after seeing his condition. He is fighting for his life at another hospital.

According to Asit’s uncle Gouranga Dey, Asit, a resident of Tekni area, was returning home with his auto-rickshaw as usual, when Suman Deb and his relatives stopped his way and assaulted him. Later, they dragged him to Suman’s house and beat him up with a da and a stick. Asit sustained a deep cut on his right leg, and his head and face were bleeding profusely. Asit was rescued by the local people and his relatives, who took him to Kadamtala hospital. Both Asit and Sajal were referred to another hospital for better treatment.

Suman and his mother and uncle came to Kadamtala hospital to get treatment for Suman, claiming that he was also injured in the incident. They are currently under police custody. The police are investigating the incident. It is yet to be revealed what was the actual cause of the incident and how the Kadamtala police will solve the mystery.
