Agartala, 11th June 2025 : A six-year-old boy Amit Pal and his mother Barsha Debbarma sustained serious injuries in a road accident near Jabbartila under Khowai police station this morning. The incident took place when they were returning home after school, walking alongside the road, when a speeding bike bearing registration number TR06E-5970 collided with them.
According to eyewitness accounts, the accident took place near Khowai Ananda Marg School shortly after Amit Pal had exited a e-rickshaw with his mother. Locals at the scene swiftly intervened, booking the accused rider before notifying authorities.
The injured duo was immediately rushed to Khowai District Hospital for medical treatment. Sources revealed that the bike rider, identified as 21-year-old Shubham Debbarma from Champahaour was reportedly returning from Khumulwng College when the accident took place.
Khowai police have taken Debbarma and a minor passenger into custody, launching a formal investigation into the matter. Authorities have registered a case against both individuals and are probing the circumstances surrounding the crash. Further legal proceedings are expected as the investigation progresses.
