Traffic advisory issued for Ratha Yatra Festival in Agartala on June 27

Agartala, 26th June 2025:   In view of the grand Ratha Yatra Festival celebrations scheduled for June 27, 2025, the Tripura Police has issued a detailed traffic advisory to facilitate smooth vehicular movement and public safety. The processions will take place from 2 PM to 8 PM, with multiple routes across Agartala expected to witness large gatherings and slow traffic.

According to the advisory, three major Ratha Jatra processions will be held. The first will begin from Purbasha to ISKON Temple (Math Chowmuhani), proceeding via Old Motor Stand, Kaman Chowmuhani, Post Office Chowmuhani, Netaji Chowmuhani, Gandhighat, Paradise Chowmuhani, and back through Orient Chowmuhani, RS Bhavan, Women’s College, B.K. Road, Lal Bahadur Club, and Ganaraj Chowmuhani.

The second procession from Jagannath Jeu Temple will move through Rabindra Bhawan, Raj Bari, Tulshibati School, Kaman Chowmuhani, Post Office Chowmuhani, Old RMS Chowmuhani, Dainik Sambad, B.K. Chowmuhani, RS Bhavan Chowmuhani, and return to Jagannath Jeu Temple.

The third route starts from Ashram Chowmuhani and passes through Kamar Pukurpar, Motorstand, Chittaranjan, Shib Nagar, Kalyani, Azid Hind Prantic Club, and loops back to the Ashram.

To avoid congestion, alternative routes have been suggested: From A.D. Nagar via Fly-Over to ILS/GB through Fire Service Chowmuhani and Durga Chowmuhani; From GB to the Bypass via Indranagar, Dhaleswar, and Math Chowmuhani; From GB to Kheyerpur via SDO Chowmuhani, Nandanagar, and Banikya Chowmuhani.

Vehicle movement restrictions (no entry zones) will apply at the following points: RS Bhavan Crossing towards Jagannath Jeu Temple; Orient Chowmuhani towards RS Bhavan; Lions Gate towards RS Bhavan; B.K. Chowmuhani towards RS Bhavan; Old Central Crossing, Math Chowmuhani, and Ganaraj Chowmuhani towards Purbasha

Authorities have urged commuters to use designated alternative routes and cooperate with law enforcement for hassle-free travel during the festivities.
