Agartala, 28th June 2025 :   The 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Tripura State Cooperative Bank was held on Saturday at the Agartala Town Hall, marked by a spirited and well-attended gathering of officials, stakeholders, and dignitaries.

Cooperation Minister Shukla Charan Noatia, who graced the occasion as chief guest, underscored the bank’s pivotal role in advancing financial inclusion across Tripura. “The Cooperative Bank is not only a financial institution, but a catalyst for rural development and economic empowerment,” he said.

Highlighting the bank’s growing footprint, the minister informed that it now operates 66 branches across the state, extending essential banking services to rural and remote areas. “By reaching the unreached, the bank is truly living up to its cooperative mission,” he noted.

One of the key moments of the event was the bank’s announcement of a ₹15 lakh donation to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund, drawn from its profits in the last financial year. Minister Noatia stated, “This contribution reflects our deep sense of responsibility towards the people of the state. It is not just charity, but an extension of our public service mandate.”

The AGM also included comprehensive discussions on the bank’s performance, upcoming financial strategies, and the unveiling of an ambitious action plan for the future.

In a major achievement, the bank announced the recruitment of 156 new employees—the highest in its history—to enhance operational efficiency and customer service delivery. “This historic recruitment drive will significantly strengthen our outreach and responsiveness,” said Minister Noatia.

He further emphasized that the bank continues to play a key role in empowering the people of Tripura by offering timely and accessible credit. “By supporting self-employment and small enterprises, the bank is helping people become self-reliant,” he concluded.

The AGM reaffirmed the Tripura State Cooperative Bank’s commitment to inclusive growth, social responsibility, and cooperative values in building a stronger rural economy.
