Agartala, 26th April 2025: The Sukanta Academy auditorium witnessed a dignified celebration on Saturday evening as Tripureshwari Shishu Mandir (Ramnagar) held its annual prize distribution ceremony alongside the 300th birth anniversary of Lokmata Ahilyabai.
The event commenced at 6 pm with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp followed by prayers. Dr. Dhananjay Gan Chowdhury, President of the School Management Committee and Tripura Board of Secondary Education presided over the occasion. The chief guest for the evening, Dr. Abhik Majumdar, Assistant Professor at NIT Agartala delivered an inspiring speech encouraging the students to strive for excellence.
Dr. Shankar Roy, Vice-President of Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharati Shiksha Sansthan remarked on the school’s achievements, stating, “This institution consistently upholds the values of education and culture, creating a nurturing environment for students.” Subhash Ganachowdhury, Secretary of Vidya Bharati Shiksha Samiti emphasized the significance of celebrating the legacy of Lokmata Ahilyabai.
Special guests included Nilmani Chakraborty, Tripura Branch Coordinator of Vidya Bharati Shiksha Samiti, Subir Chakraborty, Vice-President of Vidya Bharati Shiksha Samiti, and members of the school. Former head of the school Acharya Abhijit Dutta Chowdhury and current head Acharya Jaya Dey were also present.
The students captivated the audience with a vibrant cultural program, showcasing their talents and paying tribute to the heritage of Lokmata Ahilyabai. The event concluded with the awarding of prizes to meritorious students and a solemn state salute.
