Agartala, 26th April 2025: A wave of grief and anger swept through Agartala as the Tripura Government Employees Federation staged a protest march on Saturday evening, condemning the brutal militant attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The attack, reportedly perpetrated by Pakistan-backed militants, resulted in the tragic loss of 28 innocent lives, leaving the nation in mourning.
The protest march commenced from the Federation’s head office at Junction Gate, Ujjayanta Market drew a significant turnout from its members and leaders. Carrying placards and banners, participants voiced their outrage at the incident and called for decisive action against terrorism. Federation leader Samar Roy led the procession and addressed the gathering, emphasizing the need for accountability and justice.
“This barbaric act of terrorism cannot be tolerated. The blood of 28 innocent Indians calls for a strong and resolute response. We demand that the government take strict measures to eliminate Pakistan-backed militancy and ensure such tragedies do not occur again,” stated Samar Roy during his speech.
The march concluded with a poignant tribute ceremony at the Federation’s headquarters, where candles were lit in memory of the victims. Amidst an atmosphere heavy with sorrow, Federation leaders expressed their condolences to the bereaved families.
“We stand in solidarity with the families of those who lost their lives in this heinous attack. Their pain is unimaginable, and we assure them that their loved ones will not be forgotten,” said Sanjib Chakraborty, another senior leader.
The ceremony was attended by Subhash Sutradhar, Swarnendu Banik, Mrinal Chakraborty and others alongside leaders from various affiliated departmental organizations. Each leader took a moment to reflect on the lives lost and the impact of the attack on the nation.
Mrinal Chakraborty added, “This is not just an attack on individuals; it is an attack on the collective spirit of our country. We must stand united against such threats and ensure the safety and security of our people.”
The Federation also passed a resolution urging the central government to intensify efforts in combating militancy and addressing cross-border threats. The resolution underscored the importance of honoring the sacrifices of the victims and restoring peace in affected regions.
