Agartala, 19th August 2025: The West Agartala Police have recovered three stolen motorcycles and a quantity of gold ornaments, arresting four alleged thieves in the process.
Addressing the media, SDPO Debaprasad Roy said the police conducted a raid in the Border Gol Chakkar area on Monday night, where a group of robbers armed with sharp weapons attacked the police team. One policeman sustained injuries during the operation.
Despite the attack, two of the accused were arrested on the spot, while the others managed to flee. Following further searches, two more were apprehended from Vishalgarh and Jaipur. A substantial quantity of gold ornaments was seized from their possession.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Akash Das, Shakil, Pintu, and Jhuton Mia. According to police, they were involved in multiple theft and robbery cases across the state.
The accused will be produced before the court after police seek remand for further investigation, SDPO Roy added.
