Youth caught selling intoxicants, handed over to police by locals

Agartala, 19th March 2025:   A youth was booked by locals while attempting to sell intoxicants, sparking significant unrest in the Khilpara-Bhangarpara area of Udaipur. The incident has drawn widespread attention in the region.

According to reports, the sale of intoxicants by a group of youths had been a persistent issue in the Khilpara-Bhangarpara area of Udaipur subdivision. Despite repeated complaints to the local police, no effective action had been taken. Frustrated by the inaction, residents decided to take matters into their own hands.

This morning, locals set up a watch to catch the sellers in the act. Eventually, Krishna Datta, a youth from the area, was caught red-handed with a large quantity of alcohol and intoxicants in an auto-rickshaw. The residents detained both the individual and the vehicle before handing them over to the police.
