CISF leads way with 50 percent women in senior leadership roles

Date:

In a major achievement, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has reached a historic milestone with 50 percent of its cadre officers in the rank of Inspector General (IG) now being women.

This makes CISF the leader among all Armed Forces of the Union in terms of female representation in senior leadership positions, the CISF said today in a post on X.

The women officers are now at the helm of critical portfolios and field formations, underscoring the CISF’s commitment to promoting women empowerment, gender parity, and inclusive leadership.

This achievement aligns with India’s broader national push for “Nari Shakti” (women power) in national security.

The rise of women to leadership positions within CISF marks more than just a milestone — it signifies the force’s active role in advancing true representation and fostering meaningful participation of women in uniformed services.
