Telangana govt signs 21 MoUs on first day of Global AI Summit

 The Telangana Government signed 21 Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with reputed players in the private ecosystem, including academic institutions, big-tech companies, startups, and not-for-profit organizations on the first day of two-day Global AI Summit here on Thursday.

All the MoUs were signed in the presence of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy and state Minister for IT and Industries D Sridhar Babu.

These MoUs were signed across various dimensions required to make Telangana an AI Superpower in the country.

The MoUs were signed majorly in 7 areas –Compute Infrastructure, Centre of Excellence, Skilling, Impact assessment, Startup Innovation, Generative AI, Research & Collaboration, and Data Annotation.

To enhance the computational resources in the state, required for AI systems, the government signed 2 separate MoUs with Yotta and C-DAC.

Yotta will design & construct a specialized AI-Data Centre in Hyderabad.

The data center will house state-of-the-art GPU based AI cloud infrastructure, powered by Rs4000 H100 GPUs or equivalent initially, scalable up to >25000 H100 GPUs in future.

Yotta will also establish a collaborative R&D initiative around cloud & AI technologies with local startups, industries, educational and research institutions.

The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) will provide free access to PARAM Siddhi – AI and AIRAWAT PoC for T-AIM powered startups.

These startups will receive up to 1,000 free GPU hours for six months, reducing their costs and fostering AI innovation across key sectors.

To focus on promoting AI in crucial as well as emerging areas in the state, the government is partnering with PATH and Nazara Technologies to build the Center of Excellence.

PATH, an international non-profit health organization, and the Government of Telangana will build a CoE in AI for Public Health (CoE-AI4PH) aimed at comprehensively leveraging AI for Healthcare service delivery in Telangana.

Nazara, an e-sports and mobile gaming company, in collaboration with the government, will establish a cutting-edge Nazara AI Center of Excellence focused on AI-driven innovation and policy-making in gaming, interactive media, and digital content, advancing the future of digital entertainment.

For talent & skill development among the youth in the state, MoUs were signed with NxtWave, Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft, benefiting more than 2.5 lakh students and professionals in the state.

These partnerships showcase the state government’s significant commitment to building AI capabilities and promoting technological innovation in Telangana.
