Agartala, 4th April 2024:   The Gana Mancha a joint plant form of opposition parties, has appealed to cast vote in favour of INDI bloc candidates to save the country from the fascistic rule of BJP.

At a press conference held at the Agartala Press Club on Thursday, Acting President Subrata Bhowmik of the central committee of Gana Mancha rallied for votes in favor of the India alliance ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The elections, slated to commence in seven phases from April 19th with the final round on June 1st, have been described as occurring in an unprecedented context in independent India.

Bhowmik raised concerns over what he termed the establishment of a fascist regime by the RSS-BJP alliance over the past decade.

He highlighted instances of political leaders such as Arvind Kejriwal and Hemant Soren being arrested, along with numerous opposition figures facing legal action under dubious charges by agencies such as the ED, CBI, and IT.

Addressing regional dynamics, Bhowmik accused the IPFT-Tipra-Motha alliance of stoking ethnic tensions by inciting animosity against non-tribal populations, thereby fostering an atmosphere of distrust.

Bhowmik underscored the unity of eight parties under the banner of Gana Mancha in the state, with mass support bolstering their electoral prospects.

Notable candidates highlighted included Ashish Kumar Saha of the Congress and Rajendra Reang of the CPIM contesting for West Tripura and East reserved seats, respectively, on behalf of the India alliance. Additionally, Ratan Das of CPIM was mentioned as a candidate in the upcoming by-election of the Ramnagar assembly constituency.

Concluding his address, Bhowmik urged supporters to ensure a resounding victory for India alliance candidates and emphasized the importance of securing a significant mandate in the upcoming elections.
