Agartala, 1st June 2024:  In response to allegations of deteriorating law and order, unemployment, and food scarcity made by the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and the Students’ Federation of India (SFI), the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) Tripura Pradesh organized a protest rally on Saturday. The rally, led by Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, took place in Agartala and was attended by BJYM state president and MLA Sushanta Deb, among other leaders.

Addressing the media, Minister Chowdhury criticized the Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPIM), Congress, and left-leaning student organizations, accusing them of spreading falsehoods to mislead the public. He asserted that the state government, under Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, is people-oriented and effective. According to Chowdhury, the Left has a history of making such claims, which he dismissed as baseless.

The minister expressed confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led coalition’s prospects in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on June 4, predicting a third consecutive term for the coalition under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.

The protest march, initiated by various mandals and centrally organized in Agartala, traversed several routes throughout the city, demonstrating the party’s unified stance against the allegations.
