Agartala, 15th June 2024: The ICFAI University Tripura had embarked on its journey in the year 2004, established by an act of Tripura state legislative assembly. Over the past two decades, it has evolved significantly, marking this year a notable milestone of 20years of academic excellence, innovation, and community impact. Since its founding in the year 2004, the University has transformed from a modest institution to a renowned center for teaching, learning, and research. It has made substantial contributions to the economy, the academic community and society at large.
The Founder member of the ICFAI Group, Late.N J Yasaswy, who envisioned a dynamic and inclusive institution dedicated to fostering intellectual growth and societal development, has been the cornerstone of journey of the University. Over the past two decades, the University has stayed true to its vision, evolving and adapting to meet the changing needs of the world while maintaining its core values of integrity, excellence, and inclusivity.
Since inception, the University has prioritized high academic standards and cutting-edge research due to which the University is able to attract students and scholars from the neighboring countries like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Somalia.
The University has established itself as a hub for pioneering research. With numerous research& innovation centers and collaborations with leading institutions worldwide, it has made significant strides in the fields of Technology, Basic Sciences, Management, Law, Liberal Arts, English, Education, Special Education, Physical Education, Yoga and Naturopathy, Library & Information Sciences, Hospital Administration, Allied Health Science, Nursing, Psychology, Clinical Psychology etc.
Community service and engagement have been an integral part of the mission of the University and the initiatives have positively impacted the local community through various outreach programs, partnerships with local organizations, and projects aimed at societal betterment. Free legal Aid services, Free tuition to the village students, Blood Donation Camps, Distribution of food and clothes to the under marginal people, Tree Plantation, charity work towards Old age & Orphanage homes, Yoga camps etc. are the major outreach areas of work extended by the university on regular basis.
The physical and technological infrastructure of the University has grown exponentially. State-of-the-art facilities, modern laboratories, and a comprehensive digital library system ensured that our students and faculties have the resources they need to excel.
To commemorate this momentous occasion in a befitting manner, the University has planned a series of events throughout the year. As a part of celebration, the University is already in the process of planting 1000 trees beside the newly constructed National Highway No.104. On 15th June, 2024 morning about 1000 members consisting of Students, Staff and Faculty members and Alumni of the University organized a rally at Agartala. Registrar, all Deans, Principals and Head of Departments including staffs of the University also participated in the rally.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary, the University is also looking forward to the future with optimism and determination. The ICFAI University Tripura is committed to continuing its legacy of excellence, embracing new challenges, and expanding its impact globally.
This milestone would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of all the faculty, staffs, students, alumni, and stakeholders.
