Agartala, 18th July 2024:  In a festive atmosphere, BJP nominees submitted their nomination papers for the 17 Zilla Parishad seats in Kalacherra RD Block on Thursday. This significant political event saw BJP candidates filing their papers in 75 constituencies under the Dharmanagar Assembly Constituency which includes five Panchayat Samiti and 70 Gram Panchayat candidates.

After the nomination process, Biswabandhu Sen, the area’s MLA and Speaker of the State LegislativeAssembly, spoke to reporters about the party’s prospects. “Our candidates will win without hesitation in all Panchayat Samiti and Gram Panchayat wards,” Sen confidently declared. Addressing the competition, Sen remarked, “The Left Front and Indian National Congress candidates filed their papers yesterday, but they exist only on paper. In reality, they don’t stand a chance. The Bharatiya Janata Party will win confidently, for the people and with the people.”

Sen also expressed restraint regarding celebrations, stating, “Many want to march in joy of victory now, but I will only march with the winning candidates after the August 8 polls and the August 12 counting as per the constitution.”

In Bagbasa assembly constituency, the political fervor is equally high with a total of 227 candidates. Yadav Lal Debnath, the MLA of this area, echoed similar confidence. “I am 100 percent hopeful that the ruling party will win in every ward,” Debnath asserted. He attributed this optimism to the BJP’s impressive vote share in the last assembly and Lok Sabha elections. “There has been much more progress in this assembly constituency than in the last 25 years of previous governments. So people will vote for Bharatiya Janata Party candidates for development,” he added without hesitation.

It is noteworthy that Kalacherra RD Block comprises 18 Gram Panchayats and one Village Committee, encompassing a total of 113 wards. Similarly, Jubarajnagar RD Block has 20 Gram Panchayats with 216 wards, further highlighting the extensive political groundwork laid by the BJP in these regions.
