Agartala, 14th August 2024:  In a fervent appeal to Bangladesh’s interim government, the Jagannath Temple in the capital city on Wednesday has called for immediate action to protect the country’s minority communities. This demand was made during a religious gathering at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan on Wednesday, where Hindu saints and devotees performed Harinam Sankirtan.

The call for protection comes in response to the recent surge in violence against minorities in Bangladesh, which has been described as intolerable. The Hindu community emphasized that their religion, present in every nation, stands as a beacon of peace and does not condone violence. They urged the government to ensure the safety and well-being of Hindus, allowing them to live without fear.

The event saw participation from both religious leaders and the general public, who collectively condemned the brutal attacks on minorities and demanded justice.
