Agartala, 27th August 2025 :   A 15-year-old boy, who had attempted suicide, has made a miraculous recovery owing to the prompt and dedicated efforts of specialist doctors at the Emergency Medicine Department of Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC) and GBP Hospital. The teenager was referred to AGMC and GBP Hospital on August 21 from Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Hospital in a critical condition. He was brought to the emergency ward unconscious and fighting for life.

Doctors of the Emergency Medicine Department immediately swung into action, conducting urgent medical tests and administering emergency life-saving drugs. Within a short time, a CT scan revealed brain damage, following which the team initiated intensive treatment. The patient was then shifted to the Yellow Zone of the Emergency Ward for close observation.

Under continuous monitoring and specialized care, the boy gradually regained consciousness and began responding. Over the next three days, he steadily improved, regained the ability to talk, and eventually made a full recovery. On August 25, he was discharged in a completely healthy state.

The life-saving intervention was led by Dr. Shirshendu Dhar, In-charge Emergency Medicine Specialist, along with Dr. Subrata Bhowmik (Assistant Professor, Medicine Department), Dr. Sayantika Saha (Emergency Medical Officer), Dr. Prashant Tripura (Post Graduate Trainee, Medicine Department), and other health workers of AGMC and GBP Hospital.

The boy’s family, including his father, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and health staff of AGMC and GBP Hospital for saving his life and restoring his health.
