Yaba Tablets Worth 10 Lakh Seized in Sonamura

Agartala, 27th August 2025 :  Tripura Police seized Yaba tablets valued at around ₹10 lakh during an operation near the Indo-Bangladesh border in Sepahijala district’s Sonamura subdivision.

Officer-in-Charge of Sonamura Police Station, Tapas Das, said the seizure was made late last night while a police team was on patrol at NC Nagar, close to the border fencing. During the operation, officers recovered 10,000 Yaba tablets packed in 50 plastic pouches wrapped with cellotape. The narcotics were found abandoned and subsequently seized after completing necessary legal procedures.

“An investigation has been launched to trace those behind the consignment,” Das confirmed, adding that the market value of the seized tablets is estimated at 10 lakh.
