Agartala, 4th August 2024:   The body of Manmohan Tripura, who tragically drowned in the floodwaters of Manughat Shyampara, has been recovered. The deceased was found on Sunday morning and his body was subsequently taken to the mortuary at Sabroom Sub-Divisional Hospital.

The floodwaters of the Feni and Manu rivers have risen above the danger level due to heavy rainfall over the past two days. Shyampara, situated near the confluence of these rivers, along with Manughat and Harbatali, has been severely affected by the floods.

According to local reports, the incident occurred when Manmohan Tripura ventured out to observe the flood situation on Saturday morning. Despite extensive search efforts by local residents, police, TSR, the disaster response team, and the NDRF, his body was not recovered until the following day. The rising floodwaters have created hazardous conditions in the area, exacerbating the search and rescue operations.
