Agartala, 26th September 2024: In the 33rd phase of the Mukhyamantri’s Samipeshu program, citizens from across the state gathered at the official residence of Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha to seek help and discuss their issues.
The Chief Minister interacted directly with the people, listening to their grievances and providing on-the-spot solutions related to medical care, education, social allowances, and employment.
Among the cases presented was Bhaskarjyoti Bhowmik, a resident of Jayanagar, Agartala, suffering from a rare genetic disorder. Facing financial challenges due to the high cost of treatment in Kolkata, Bhowmik appealed to the Chief Minister for support.
In response, Dr Saha arranged for free medicines and facilitated treatment under the Chief Minister Jan Arogya Yojana, along with the benefits of the Ayushman card.
Several others, including cancer patient Karuna Debnath from Bagma, Babli Sinha from Kunjawan for her mother’s knee replacement, Gita Bhowmik from North Jogendra Nagar for her husband’s treatment, and Mina Pal from RMS Choumuhni, approached the Chief Minister seeking medical assistance.
The Chief Minister promptly directed the medical superintendents of GBP Hospital and the Cancer Hospital to ensure that the necessary medical support is provided to these individuals.
In a separate case, Shila Rani Chakraborty from Indranagar requested social allowance support.
The Chief Minister immediately instructed LT Darlong, Acting Secretary of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department, to take the necessary steps to address her concern.
During the program, some individuals received financial assistance directly from the Chief Minister, providing immediate relief to those in urgent need.
The Chief Minister’s swift actions reassured the attendees that their problems were being taken seriously and would be addressed promptly.
Also present at the event were Dr. PK Chakraborty, Secretary to the Chief Minister, LT Darlong, Acting Secretary of the Social Welfare and Social Education Department, Tapan Kumar Das, Director of Social Welfare and Social Education Department, Dr. Shankar Chakraborty, Medical Superintendent of GBP Hospital, Dr. S. Debbarma, Medical Superintendent of Atal Bihari Regional Cancer Center, and Samit Roy Chowdhury, Managing Director of the State Branch of the National Health Mission.
