Agartala, 27th October 2025:  The CPIM has strongly refuted allegations stemming from a forged document circulating on social media during the Durga Puja festivities.

Speaking to media personnel at the party’s district office in Kailashahar this afternoon, CPIM Sub-Divisional Secretary Anjan Roy addressed what he described as a deliberate misinformation campaign aimed at maligning the party’s image.

Roy clarified that a letter falsely attributed to the CPIM Secretariat, allegedly requesting vehicle passes for Durga Puja was entirely fabricated. The document, which included the name of one Abdul Mannan, was reportedly forged using the party’s official letterhead and a counterfeit signature of state committee member Biswaroop Goswami.

“As soon as the matter came to our attention, we formally approached the Sub-Divisional Police Officer the next morning to request cancellation of the fraudulent pass,” Roy stated.

He further emphasized that CPIM has no affiliation with Abdul Mannan and accused BJP’s district president Bimal Kar of exploiting the situation to divert public attention from internal factional conflicts within the ruling party over contractor dealings in Kailashahar.

Roy also criticized local MLA Birajit Sinha for his silence on persistent power outages and civic issues, despite reportedly being involved in the contractor-related factional disputes.

In a call to action, Roy announced a public protest meeting scheduled for tomorrow evening in Kailashahar, aimed at exposing corruption and informing citizens of the facts behind the controversy.

CPIM maintains that the circulation of forged documents and misleading claims is a calculated attempt to tarnish the party’s reputation. The leadership has urged the administration to conduct an impartial investigation to uncover the truth.
