Huge haul of drugs worth Rs 4.26 cr recovered at Assam-Tripura border

Agartala, April 16, 2023: On a specific input provided by Military Intelligence, Kolkata and 18 Assam Rifles, Assam Police recovered huge consignment of illegal Cannabis at Assam-Tripura border.

The cannabis worth Rs 4.26 crores recovered from a Truck bearing registration Number of Telengana bearing registration number TS12UD-5624 at Churaibari Watch Post Naka Check Point on national highway 08 under Bazaricherra Police Station in Karimganj district of South Assam.

One person namely Dewan Kumar alias Deepak of Kathia under Pipra Police Station in Bihar’s Supaul district was apprehended. As per police source, a total of approximately 1420 kgs of Cannabis was recovered from the truck.
