Agartala, 24th September 2025 : In a heartwarming gesture ahead of the Sharadiya Durga Puja, the Kailashahar-based NGO Swapnochura Social Welfare Organization organized a clothing distribution drive for underprivileged individuals, transcending barriers of caste, creed, and religion. The initiative, held in the Cinema Hall Para area of Kailashahar, saw 71 needy recipients receive new garments, setting a powerful example of inclusive humanitarian outreach.
The event was graced by Swapnochura’s Secretary and President of Kailashahar Press Club, Md. Jamal Uddin; senior journalist Pralayendu Choudhury; social activist Biswajit Bhattacharjee; local residents Kabir Hossain and Madhab Pal; and journalist Narayan Saha, among others.
Speaking on the occasion, Md. Jamal Uddin shared, “For the past three years, we’ve been organizing this initiative during the festive season. We strive to provide clothing to people from all communities, regardless of religion or background. Beyond festivals, we also stand by those affected during natural disasters. This effort will continue in the future.”
Due to health issues, Swapnochura’s President, Praheli Bhattacharjee, could not attend the event but extended heartfelt Durga Puja greetings to all on behalf of the organization.
