Police nab two cow thieves in Udaipur subdivision

Agartala, September 16, 2023: Two men were arrested by the police on Friday night for stealing five cows from a house in Udaipur subdivision. The owner of the cows, Isaac Reang, had lodged a complaint at Radhakishorepur police station after he found his cows missing from his house in Tainani area.

The police set up a check post on the Garji-Tainani road after receiving the information and intercepted two men who were bringing five cows along. The police asked them to produce the documents of the cows, but they failed to do so. The police then identified them as Subedan Reang from Tainani and Pramila Reang from Takma Rham area and arrested them.

The police brought the two suspects and the cows to Radhakishorepur police station and called Isaac Reang to identify his cows. Isaac Reang confirmed that the cows belonged to him and thanked the police for their swift action. The police said that the two thieves will be produced before the court and face legal action.

The locals appreciated the work of the police and said that cow theft was a common problem in Udaipur subdivision. They urged the police to take strict measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
