Agartala, October 15: A vital blood donation camp was organized in the auditorium of Matabari Panchayat Samiti, Udaipur, with the participation of the Tripura MGNREGA Employees Welfare Association and Matabari RD Block Employees’ Organization. The event was inaugurated by Finance Minister Pranajit Singh Roy, who cut the ribbon to mark the commencement of the blood donation drive.
The initiative received support from several notable dignitaries, including State Assembly MLAs Abhishek Debroy and Jitendra Majumdar, as well as Gomti District Zila Parishad Sabhadipati Debal Debroy and others.
Addressing the gathering, Singha Roy emphasized the timeliness of the blood donation camp, given the current shortage of blood at the Gomati district hospital. The blood donated during the event was expected to alleviate the crisis, at least temporarily.
The speaker stressed the importance of regular blood donation, highlighting that while various commodities are readily available in the market, there is no substitute for blood. Blood has no caste, and there is no nobler act than donating blood to assist an ailing patient.
Furthermore, the current state government’s dedication to advancing the state’s development was recognized. Starting with the REGA Employees Welfare Association, all attendees were encouraged to join hands with the government to contribute to the state’s growth and progress. The blood donation camp served as a tangible example of the community’s collective efforts to address urgent healthcare needs.
