Agartala: June 10. The Southwest monsoon has advanced into entire parts of Tripura from today. As per press release from IMD, Agartala, the entry of Southwest monsoon in the state was delayed by a week from its normal date.
“Rainfall occurred at most places in Tripura, with heavy rainfall at isolated places during last 24 hours” said IMD. They further predicted that thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur at isolated places over all district of Tripura. Very heavy rainfall is very likely to occur at isolated place over south district and very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places over Dhalai and Gomati district of Tripura.
The IMD sources further said that Northeast India can expect light to moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds during the next five days. It also said that widespread rain and thunderstorms with isolated heavy falls may lash Tripura on June 11.
