Agartala, 26th August 2025:   A new One Stop Center (OSC) dedicated to supporting women in crisis was inaugurated today at Kailashahar, marking a pivotal advancement in the region’s efforts to safeguard women’s rights and well-being.

Launching the center, Social Welfare and Social Education minister Tinku Roy said that the OSC aims to provide integrated assistance to women facing violence, distress, or vulnerability. Speaking at the inauguration, Roy emphasized the center’s role as a “symbol of unwavering commitment to justice, respect, and protection for every woman.”

The OSC will offer a suite of critical services, including: Police assistance, Medical care, Legal counseling, Psychosocial support, and Temporary shelter.

These services are designed to be accessible in a single location, ensuring swift and coordinated responses during emergencies.

Minister Roy credited the initiative to the broader vision of the BJP-led government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that “women’s safety and dignity remain central to our governance.” He added that the OSC reflects a national commitment to creating secure environments where women can live without fear and with full access to justice and support.

Highlighting the government’s ongoing efforts, Roy noted that legal reforms and grassroots programs have been instrumental in promoting gender equity. “This is not just about protection, it’s about empowerment, respect, and opportunity,” he said.

The launch of the OSC is expected to strengthen local infrastructure for women’s welfare and serve as a model for similar initiatives across the state.
