Agartala, 19th April 2026:    In the wake of sporadic violence following the results of the Tripura Tribal Area Autonomous District Council election, Director General of Police Anurag on Sunday said that law enforcement agencies have intensified efforts to restore order and bring those responsible to justice.

During a visit to the West Agartala Police Station, the DGP reviewed on-ground policing measures and ongoing security arrangements. He noted that additional forces have been stationed in sensitive areas, while senior officers are conducting regular patrols to prevent any further disturbances.

Senior police personnel, including West District SP Namit Pathak, Additional SP Dhruv Nath, SDPO Sadar DP Roy, and Officer-in-Charge Rana Chatterjee, accompanied the DGP during the inspection.
