Agartala, January 20: In anticipation of the nationwide Ram Mandir Puja scheduled for January 22, Dharmanagar MLA and State Assembly Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen took part in a cleanliness drive at the Kalibari temple on Central Road in Dharmanagar on Saturday. The symbolic cleaning of the temple and its premises was carried out as part of the widespread preparations for the auspicious event, with the Speaker joined by Municipal Council Chairman Pradyut De Sarkar, social worker Shyamal Nath, and other community members.
Speaking to media personnel during the temple cleaning activity, Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen highlighted the nationwide initiative to clean temple premises, inspired by the call of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He emphasized that as the country gears up for the Ram Mandir Puja on January 22, the cleaning efforts signify a collective preparation across India. Acknowledging the significance of Ayodhya Yatra in the name of Lord Ram, Sen expressed that while not everyone may be able to visit Ayodhya, the cleaning of local temples and monasteries aligns with Hindu customs and traditions.
Touching upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dedication to the upcoming event, Speaker Sen noted the Prime Minister’s 11-day fast, consuming only coconut water. He spoke admirably of the divine power he perceives in the Prime Minister.
Reflecting on the past 25 years of what he referred to as the Communist era of secularism, Speaker Biswa Bandhu Sen asserted that efforts were made to privilege a particular religious group, creating discord and Hindu-Muslim tensions. He praised the present Prime Minister for fostering unity and tolerance, emphasizing the leader’s commitment to treating all religions with equal respect. Sen believes that the current leadership is strengthening the nation by promoting unity and embracing diversity.
