44th Agartala Book Fair to Begin on January 2 at Hapania International Ground

Agartala, 29th December 2025:    The 44th edition of the Agartala Book Fair is set to commence on January 2 at the Hapania International Ground and will run for 13 days, concluding on January 14. Organized by the Department of Information and Cultural Affairs, the fair will feature a range of literary and cultural events.

As part of the celebrations, the fair will host a poets’ conference featuring poets from eight districts of the state. Discussions, book releases, quizzes, extempore speech competitions, and cultural programs will also take place. Additionally, one special day will be dedicated to a poets’ meet focusing on Kokborok and other languages.

Among the discussion topics scheduled over the 13 days are “M. S. Swaminathan: A Pioneer of Self-Reliance in Agriculture on His Birth Centenary”, “The Indian Constitution at 75”, “Mahasweta Devi in the Context of a Century”, “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Modern Media”, “Wandering Vivekananda”, “Bande Mataram – Through the Eyes of Artists and Writers” ,“Awareness and Solutions for Preventing Child Marriage”.

The fair will also include competitions for students at various levels. University students will participate in debate competitions, college students in extempore speech contests, and school students in quizzes. Every evening, visitors can enjoy cultural performances by artists from different districts of Tripura.

The Agartala Book Fair continues to be a significant platform for promoting literature, art, and cultural exchange in the state.
