CM to inaugurate 5-day long Rajarshi festival at Bhubaneswari temple premises in Udaipur

Agartala, May 06, 2023: The 19th Rajarshi festival is starting from May 09 in the premises of Bhubaneswari temple at Udaipur and the Chief Minister Prof Dr Manik Saha will inaugurate the Rajarshi festival at 7:30 PM.

Speaking to media persons at the office of ICA department in Udaipur on Saturday, Chairperson of the Udaipur Municipal Council and Chairman of the festival committee Shital Chandra Majumder said this year’s 19th Rajarshi festival will began in Udaipur on May 09 next. At the inaugural ceremony, Chief Minister Dr Saha will be accompanied by Finance minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Tourism minister Sushanta Chowdhury, all the MLAs in the Gomati district.

In this festival and fair, 15 government stalls will be opened. In the previous years, this fair was held for three days but this year it has been extended to five days which is an additional enjoyment for the residents of Udaipur. Apart from this, artists from neighbouring Bangladesh will also perform in this festival this year. There are various cultural programs starting from the poet conference, he added.

In reply to the queries of the media personnel about the money that were collected for parking vehicles in dispute at Bhubaneswari temple, the chairman of the fair committee said that no money will be collected for this kind of parking. Chairman of Matarbari Panchayat Samiti Sujan Sen assured that if any such youth collects money from tourists in the name of parking, then action will be taken against him after getting information about this matter.

Assistant Director of Gomati district’s ICA Office Manoj Kumar Debbarma was also present in the press conference.
