Agartala, 1st July 2024:  Hemendra Nath, a resident of Jaishree Dhananjaya Para village in Kanchanpur sub-division, has approached the North District Superintendent of Police seeking urgent assistance after his 16-year-old daughter went missing on June 6. The girl had gone out for a morning walk and did not return home, prompting a frantic search by her family members who subsequently informed the Laljuri outpost police.

Days later, Nath received a distressing call from Gokulnagar village under Amtali police station, demanding a ransom of ₹40,000 for his daughter’s release. Lacking the funds, he pleaded for a reduced amount, but his request was denied. Eventually, the girl managed to return home on her own.

Despite lodging a verbal complaint with the OC of Laljuri outpost police station, no action was initially taken by the authorities. Frustrated with the lack of response, Nath and his family approached the North Tripura District Superintendent of Police, who has assured them of swift action to secure the girl’s safe return.
