Former Deputy CM Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurates Shriraj Mala event, urges to preserve history

Agartala, February 24: Former Deputy Chief Minister Jishnu Dev Varma inaugurated the fifth wave of Shriraj Mala, a cultural program that showcases the history and heritage of Tripura, at Rabindra Satabarshiki Bhavan here on Saturday. He said that the history of Tripura is the history of India, and everyone should know and respect it.

He recalled the sacrifices and struggles of the people of Tripura and India to achieve and maintain independence. He said that not only kings and queens, but also their descendants, fought for the freedom and dignity of the nation. He expressed hope that the state and the country will progress further with the inspiration of this history.

He also appreciated the organizers of Shriraj Mala for their efforts to promote the culture and identity of Tripura. He said that such programs are important to educate the younger generation about their roots and heritage.

The event was also attended by Agartala Municipal Corporation Mayor Dipak Majumder, Tripura University Ex-Vice-Chancellor Arunoday Saha, and other eminent personalities. A book titled ‘Parthasarathi in the land of birds’, written by Dr. Prabir Kumar Das, was also released on the occasion. The event witnessed the participation of students from various schools, who performed cultural activities and displayed their talents.
