The victim, Khurshed Alam, son of Nunu Miah and a resident of Ward No. 1 of Shubhapur Gram Panchayat, was allegedly attacked by Selim Miah, a local resident from the same area.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred in front of the chamber of the Shahapur Mastan Tila Assam Huzur, when Selim Miah confronted Khurshed Alam and demanded repayment of ₹500 he had previously lent him. When Khurshed Alam responded that he would repay the amount after a few days, a heated argument broke out between the two, quickly escalating into a scuffle.
