Agartala, 15th December 2024: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today said that the state government is working on developing advanced infrastructure in various sectors, including communication, education, health, and sports and informed that three satellite towns will be built in Agartala, Dharmanagar, and Udaipur.
“Like other developed states of the country, the government has given priority to developing advanced infrastructure in Tripura too. The state government is working on developing advanced infrastructure in various sectors, including communication, education, health, and sports. The government’s goal is to build a better Tripura,” said Dr. Saha.
He said this after laying the foundation stone of seven projects in the premises of Ramesh English Medium Higher Secondary School in Udaipur and virtually inaugurating the newly constructed two-storey building of Gamaria Higher Secondary School.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister said that the development of modern infrastructure in the state has started on the advice of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“The state government has allocated about Rs 7,000 crore in the budget for infrastructure development. There have been many changes in the field of medical services and infrastructure development in the state. Super specialty services are now being provided at Agartala Government Medical College. A dental college has already been established. Kidney transplants are now being performed in the state. Initiatives have also been taken to conduct liver transplants at GB Hospital in the coming days,” said Dr. Saha.
Notably, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the Udaipur Municipal Council building, shopping mall, and auditorium in Udaipur today at a cost of Rs44 crore. Additionally, he laid the foundation stone for the Vigyan Bhavan of Netaji Subhash Mahavidyalaya at a cost of Rs40 crore, Bichitra Hall and Naya Bhavan of Ramesh School at a cost of Rs8.51 crore, installation of synthetic turf in Ramesh School ground at a cost of Rs5 crore, Rajarbagh Motor Stand at a cost of Rs10 crore, a 200-bed youth hostel at a cost of Rs16.25 crore, and the District Magistrate’s office building at a cost of Rs24.20 crore.
The Chief Minister said that the government is prioritizing improvements to the communication system in the state. “Moreover, the sports infrastructure is being strengthened by addressing the basic problems faced by sportspersons. The importance of sports is immense in building a drug-free Tripura. Sports can protect the youth from the clutches of addiction. Three satellite towns will be built in Agartala, Dharmanagar, and Udaipur. The government has also prioritized the development of the education system in tribal areas. Eklavya Model Residential Schools are being set up in tribal areas,” he added.
Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Social Welfare and Social Education Minister Tinku Roy, MLA Abhishek Debroy, MLA Jitendra Majumder, Secretary of the Youth Affairs and Sports Department Dr. P.K. Chakraborty, Secretary of the Transport Department C.K. Jamatia, Special Secretary of the School Education Department Raval Hemendra Kumar, Superintendent of Police of Gomati District Namit Pathak, and others were present.
